    Dropping a Queen

Not me, my opponent. When his ill-advised Q-sortie resulted in its loss for a B I expected him to resign immediately. But he didn’t and played on. My challenge was to find a way to break through with a Q, 2R’s and a rather bad B against his 2R’s, 2B’s and N.

I played an offbeat defense, unusual for me, but I just couldn’t bring myself to play another Ruy Lopez or some such.
