MZ Chess Forum...A Goofy Experience

Today I found what appeared to be a good site for discussion of chess engines called MZ Chess Forum, but it was totally weird!
You have have to register to view the topics and discussions, so I entered my email and a password. They also have a block called “Justification” with space to type in 255 characters. The explanation was, “Your activation is contingent upon your reason for wanting to join.” That's the first time I ever had to explain why I wanted to join a forum. I have always assumed that nobody would join one unless they were interested in the subject matter and that would be one's justification. I had to ask myself, what if I typed in, “I collect butterflies and this looks like a good forum in which to discuss my hobby,” or some such stupid answer? Instead, I typed in a brief explanation that I'm interested in chess engines. Anyway, after submission, the administrator will review your account and if he approves, you will be sent an e-mail.
There was also a question to be answered as a means of preventing automated form submissions by spambots. No problem, right?
The question is: how many queens and rocks are in a chess set?  Rocks?! I figured they meant ROOKS, so I typed in “2 and 4” but that was incorrect, so then I tried “2,4” and that didn't work either.
After trying a couple of other ways to type in 2 and 4 that didn't work, I thought maybe they really did mean “rocks” so I tried a couple of different ways of typing in two and zero before I was informed that I had exceeded the number of tries they allow.
I will not be joining the forum.

  1. You do not need to feel silly in the wrong answer to a question

How not to criticize a forum without knowing the services that the PHPBB offers.

Internet forum package in the PHP scripting language that decides how to register, certainly not the administrator of the forum.

  3. With the free ChessBase reader, you can open all standard file formats (.cbh, .cbf, .pgn), play through games, watch ChessBase training videos and more.

Apparently the free ChessBase Light is no longer available except perhaps Zarkon Fischer’s site:

If you are looking for the latest full version, you will have to buy it.
